The need

Birkenhead College has a BYOD policy, but senior students taking technical courses need a relatively powerful device to run the software supplied. Some students have difficulty arranging this, which can limit their choice of subjects and their success in them.

The goal was 12 Macs and 39 Windows laptops with 8 GB or 16 GB RAM for music, media studies, digital photography and design, electronics and robotics in Years 11–13. Students use them in class and can take them home, closing the gap of digital inequality.

Got a cupboard of old laptops?

You wipe them, we pick them up, and they go straight to a school that has asked for them.
